All Creation Summoned to Praise

1Hallelujah!

I

Praise the LORD from the heavens; give praise in the heights. 2Praise him, all you angels; give praise, all you hosts. d Dn 3, 58–63; Ps 103, 20f . 3Praise him, sun and moon; give praise, all shining stars. 4Praise him, highest heavens,* you waters above the heavens. 5Let them all praise the LORD's name; for the LORD commanded and they were created, e Ps 33, 9; Gn 1, 3f; JDt 16, 14 . 6Assigned them duties forever, gave them tasks that will never change.

II

7Praise the LORD from the earth, you sea monsters and all deep waters; f Gn 1, 21; Ps 135, 6 . 8You lightning and hail, snow and clouds, storm winds that fulfill his command; 9You mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars; g Is 44, 23 . 10You animals wild and tame, you creatures that crawl and fly; h Gn 1, 21. 24f; Ps 30, 5. Dt 4, 7 . 11You kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all who govern on earth; 12Young men and women too, old and young alike. 13Let them all praise the LORD's name, for his name alone is exalted, majestic above earth and heaven. i Ps 30, 5; Dt 4, 7 . 14The LORD has lifted high the horn of his people,* to the glory of all the faithful, of Israel, the people near to their God. Hallelujah!
