The Apocryphal New Testament Easy to use collection of English translations of the New Testament Apocrypha.

Oriental Acts

There are many apocryphal Acts containing the preaching and martyrdoms of the apostles in Ethiopic, Arabic and Coptic. Many in Ethiopic may be read in Malan, or in Wallis Budge, Contendings. Arabic texts may be seen in Smith Lewis, Acta Myth./Myth. Acts. The Arabic and Ethiopic collections are likely to derive from Coptic. Existing Coptic texts are very fragmentary, although some of the older martyrdoms have survived fairly complete in Coptic. 6 See F. Morard, ‘Notes sur le recueil copte des actes apocryphes des apôtres’, RThPh 113 (1981), 403–13; and I. Guidi, ‘Frammenti copti’, in AAL. R (1887). There are also some stories that are known only in Coptic. These include the Acts of Andrew and Paul (see under Acts of Andrew above).
