The Access Bible New Revised Standard Bible, written and edited with first-time Bible readers in mind.

Reading Guide

The Wisdom of Solomon divides into three parts. The first, chs. 1–6 , introduces the reader to the primary theological issues of the work and includes a mini-narrative * about a righteous man unjustly accused of wrong-doing by a conspiracy of wicked, self-serving men. The second section, chs. 7–9 , speaks through the voice of Solomon and provides extended musings on the nature of wisdom. Chapter 10 , which marks the start of the final section, encompasses a striking poem on Wisdom's role in the lives of biblical heroes. The final chapters of the book ( 11–19 ) focus on the Exodus, using many details of the story as symbolic indications of God's respective judgment of the righteous and the wicked.
