For you were formerly put to shame through 3 Gk.m ‘Be courageous, for you have grown old in’. evils and afflictions, but now 4 but now: Gk.m om. you will shine like the lights of heaven 5 GGaM(Q)T add ‘you will shine’. and will be seen, and the gate 6 GM ‘and the gates’; Gk.m ‘the windows’. of heaven will be opened to you. 3And persevere in your cry for judgement, and it will appear to you, for justice will be exacted from the rulers for all your distress, 7 Gk.m ‘And your cry will be heard, and your judgement for which you cry will appear against everything which will help 〈against〉 you in respect of your affliction’. and from all those who helped those who plundered you. 8 and from … plundered you: Gk.m ‘and it will be executed on all who took part with those who inflicted violence on you and devoured you’. 4Be hopeful, and do not abandon your hope, for you will have great joy like the angels of heaven. 9 Gk.m om. verse 4. 5What will you have to do? 10 So GGaMQE: other Eth. After ‘sinners’ Gk.m adds ‘you will be troubled and’ (It is likely that something like ‘But as for you sinners’ has dropped out of the text before this: cp. note 12).
