1And it shall come to pass after this, when the time of the presence 1 Or ‘advent’ (Gk. παϱουσία). of the Messiah on earth has run its course, that he will return in glory to the heavens: then all who have died and have set their hopes on him will rise again. 2And it shall come to pass at that time that the treasuries will be opened in which is preserved the number of the souls of the righteous, and they will come out, and the multitude of souls will appear together in one single assembly; and those who are first will rejoice, and those who are last will not be cast down. 3For each one of them will know 2 Lit. ‘For he knows’. that the predetermined end of the times has come. 4But the souls of the wicked, when they see all this, will be the more discomforted. 3 Lit. ‘will waste away the more’. 5For they will know that their torment is upon them and that their perdition has arrived.
