1When Adam was nine hundred and thirty years old and knew that his end was near, he said, Let all my sons come together to me, so that I can bless them before I die and talk with them. 2And they came together into his presence in three groups, in the house of prayer where they used to worship the Lord God. 3And they asked him, saying, Why is it, father, you have called us together? 4And why are you lying on your bed? Then Adam answered and said, My sons, I am ill and in pain. And all his sons said to him, What do illness and pain mean, father?
