Text Commentary

1Then Seth and his mother went off towards the gates of Paradise. And while they were going, suddenly a beast appeared, a serpent, and it attacked and bit Seth. 2And as soon as Eve saw it, she wept and said, Alas, wretched woman that I am. I am accursed because I have not kept God's commandment. 3And Eve shouted at the serpent, Accursed beast! How is it you are not afraid to let yourself loose against the image of God but dare to fight it?
