Text Commentary

1But Seth and his mother continued their journey to the regions of Paradise, looking for the oil of mercy to anoint the ailing Adam; and they arrived at the gates of Paradise. They took dust from the ground and put it on their heads and they prostrated 2themselves and began to lament with loud moans, supplicating the Lord God to pity Adam in his pains and to send his angel to give him the oil from the tree of his mercy.
