    A section of the Roman province of Asia, except for part of its eastern area which in 25 BCE was incorporated into Galatia. The native people practised orgiastic worship of a female deity but the cities of Laodicea, Colossae, and Pisidian Antioch had Greekā€speaking communities, among whom Churches were established.
