In Solomon's Temple there were ten lavers (AV, RV, REB in 1 Kgs. 7: 30), which were ‘basins’ (NRSV, NJB, REB in Exod. 30: 18) of copper or bronze designed for priestly ablutions, made by order of Hiram of Tyre.
