A Roman colony 40 km. (25 miles) SW of Iconium; it boasted a temple to Zeus (Acts 14: 11–13) and when Paul and Barnabas visited the place they were taken to be the gods Hermes and Zeus after enabling a cripple to walk (Acts 14: 8–12).
