A god to whom children were sacrificed at Tophet near Jerusalem; the idolatrous practice is condemned (Lev. 18: 21; 2 Kgs. 23: 10; Jer. 32: 35). Evidently the reforms of Josiah were not able to eradicate this remnant of heathen Canaanite religion.
