One of the supporters of Jehu's coup (2 Kgs. 10: 15). His followers came to Jerusalem (c. 816 BCE) to escape from the Babylonians, but in the city they continued to live in rural and teetotal simplicity. Jeremiah contrasted their fidelity to their chosen ways with the religious disloyalty to their God of those who had always dwelt in Jerusalem (Jer. 35: 14–16).
