A town in the territory assigned to Issachar at Shiloh (Josh. 19: 18), near Mount Gilboa (1 Sam. 28: 4). It was a favourite stopping-off place for Elisha, and there the prophet once revived the son of his hostess from apparent death (2 Kgs. 4).
