Hebrew for Ionia and hence the Greek area of Asia Minor which included Ephesus and Miletus (Acts 20: 17; Rev. 1: 11) and Greece in general, so that the king of Javan (Hebrew of Dan. 8: 21) is a reference to Alexander the Great.
